Nanomedicine Support Continues in 2007
Alcor is pleased to announce continuing support for development of theoretical nanomedical protocols and devices. For the third year, Robert Freitas, Jr. will receive a grant to continue his pioneering work in nanotechnology. Freitas has acknowledged Alcor’s support in several peer-reviewed, published papers. He also has one additional peer-reviewed paper currently in press at J. Phys.Chem. A (slated for August 2007 publication) and four other peer-reviewed papers in various stages of completion — all Alcor-supported — that should be published sometime during 2007-2008.

Next Board Meeting
Board meetings are typically held on the first Saturday of the month. Due to the 4th of July holiday, the next Board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the Alcor facility (7895 East Acoma Drive in Scottsdale, AZ) at 11:00 AM (PST). Members and the public are encouraged to attend.

– Two Portuguese applicants’ insurance policies were approved.
– 2006 Conference DVD will be out shortly.

Canada has Toll-free Phone Access
Several hours were spent on the phone with multiple representatives at AT&T trying to establish toll-free phone access from Canada. After much discussion, they realized that the line was caught “in limbo” and had never been fully transferred to AT&T.
Members in Canada have confirmed that the toll-free numbers (both the business and emergency lines) are now working.

Alcor Bylaws Online
A revised version of Alcor’s Bylaws was unanimously approved by the Alcor Board recently. The revisions focused on minor typographical errors and other non-substantive changes.
