Dr. Gillian Ramsey brings nearly two decades of specialized anesthesiology expertise to Alcor’s medical team. Since 2006, she has been a practicing anesthesiologist, focusing primarily on pediatric care at an academic teaching hospital in Ottawa following the completion of her Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship in 2007.
Dr. Ramsey’s commitment to advancing medical care extends beyond her clinical practice through her volunteer work with international plastic surgery missions. She has provided anesthesia for children undergoing reconstructive procedures, including cleft lip and palate repairs and burn release surgeries, in both India and the Dominican Republic, with plans for continued humanitarian work.
Since joining Alcor in 2020, Dr. Ramsey has contributed her critical care and procedural expertise to support the organization’s mission. Her background in pediatric anesthesia and critical care medicine provides valuable insight into the complex medical procedures central to cryonic preservation. She particularly values the collaborative nature of the cryonics community, such as having connected with researchers and practitioners at the most recent Global Cryonics Summit in Miami.
When not engaged in her various medical roles, Dr. Ramsey loves being on the move, finding that both her volunteer medical missions and work with Alcor satisfy her insatiable travel bug.
